Here's a great post from a blog called Kid B that pretty much sums up what I think about the whole Coldplay thing. Check it out. Feel free to leave comments on his post here, if you like. I don't know how I found this... I probably couldn't get back there if I tried.

meh (in the wise words of Homer Simpson). my husband likes Coldplay. i dont think they are the best thing out there, but i dont think they're the worst either.
I do agree that their music can only be tolerated two songs at a time before you find yourself staring and the wall and drooling on your shirt though. But hey, some people like that kind of thing.
I find it HIGHLY ironic that a post about the Kool-Aid drinking fans of Coldplay (of which I am one, thank you VERY much) is situated directly above a laudatory post about frickin' Bono.
He sells $300 jeans for poverty relief, for God's sake. Jeans!
I don't understand the allure of them either. I basically want to scratch my eyes out when I hear one of their songs. But, I guess I'm just not hip to what the kids dig these days.
Cool - spread the word. Down with Coldplay. If you want to see what else I rant about, visit: http://blairthomas.blogspot.com

$300 jeans for poverty! GENIUS! Robbing from the rich to feed the poor! Somebody should write a story about it!
Somebody should punch him in his smug, self-righteous face.
i agree with bill. what the effin' eff, dude? i have heard way way way WAY WAYWAY worse music than coldplay for your "endless, droning, brainless, entranced, unenjoyable, &c." style of music for the masses, so why pick on them? at least they're not five-for-friggin'-fighting...GOD, i hate that band...
other than the fact that that is completely beside the point, i enjoy many coldplay songs. i'm not superfan #99 or anything, but i do think that their third album had some good stuff on it. and while everyone is entitled to their point of view, i wouldn't go around slamming coldplay for a difference of artistic opinion. i think your time would be better spent trying to battle the recording industry's cold steel grip on music through paid radio play. someone please save us from a fate worse than coldplay...
i would be interested to know what music blair does like...
Why so you can bash it, sucka? Look, I'm not saying you can't like Coldplay. In fact, all I really said was, "Hey, look at this dude's blog". I know there's other stuff out there that sucks more... but I don't update the site that often (rimshot). Believe me, I know that there's a lot of stuff I like that other people think really sucks. And I'm okay with that. In fact, I rather like it that way. But the fact is - it's my blog... and I can rag on whatever music I want.
ANNNND - you still listen to the radio? Who listens to radio anymore? I haven't listened to the radio in months... I'm starting the revolution that way.
I hate to break it to you, but that is going to be one slow-as-molasses revolution my friend. I haven't listened to mainstream radio in a couple of years, and there has yet to be a plebian uprising against the Clear Channel overlords.
How about a new post already!!!!
:)

no lie!!

but first, abby wrote: "i wouldn't go around slamming coldplay for a difference of artistic opinion"
clearly i'm against bashing people for their opinions. it was just a matter of curiosity. i was interested to know if that's how blair feels about a band he/she doesn't like, how would he/she defend the music he/she DOES like? that's all.
also, NO, i don't listen to the radio! are you high? the whole paid-radio-airplay-thing is the REASON, foo!!
oh, and nice "i'll do what i want cuz it's my house" comeback, by the way.
;)
Hey ya'll... Abby SOOO loves me. Can you tell?
are you mad because i called you on the phone, or what?? :P
you acted kinda weird when you hung up.
Why would I be mad that you called me on the phone? Preposterous. Ludicrous.
And weird? I was weird? No ma'am. Well, okay, maybe a little... but no more than usual.
For the love of ever-lovin' GOD JT, come visit the girl already!
Dear JT,
UPDATE.
Love Erin.
p.s. There is a raging party in Dallas for you if you want to come on Sunday.
In case anyone is wondering, J.T. hasn't blown away or drowned. He has electricity again, but no internet or phone, and last I heard, is doing fine with no school or work to interrupt his television schedule. Thought his fan base would want to know he's OK.
